The Mechanical Engineer

"The Mechanical Engineer" is intended to provide a resourceful and enjoyable medium to all the mechanical enthusiasts. It is therefore imperative that you, as a member, observe the following rules to maintain the harmony of this board.

1. While Posting Messages

1.1 Chat/SMS Lingo is not permitted on "The Mechanical Engineer". Therefore, "my" is not "mi", "before" is not "b4" and "that" is not "dat".

1.2 Do not post offensive, abusive, obscene, hateful, discriminating or harmful posts. A decent communication protocol must be adhered to. Foul language and use of abusive words/photographs in posts/avatars/signatures/topics is STRICTLY prohibited.

1.3 Do make sure that you provide the references/original source for every piece of material that has been taken from another website/publication.

1.4 No commercial information should be provided anywhere.

1.5 Spamming is considered as a very serious offence on "The Mechanical Engineer". It includes one-line replies under various topics which have no relevance or do not contribute to the board in any way.

1.6 No personal attacks on any member will be entertained. All members are part of the "The Mechanical Engineer" family and any discriminating or derogatory comment will be dealt with severely.

1.7 Smilie usage is restricted to ONE per post.

1.8 We would appreciate new members using the search feature before posting on topics that have already been discussed extensively before.

1.9 Take care to post in the right forum.

1.10 Don’t ask for warez/mp3z...this place is for Mechanical topics only.

1.11 Follow basic netiquette rules. For example, DO NOT ever type in ALL CAPS. This applies to both topic titles and the post messages, as this is considered yelling.

1.12 Keep the focus. Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, and then banned.

1.13 When posting in all forums except the serious stuff,fun stuff,e-books forum and the announcement forum, you are supposed to use the following tabs on headings.

[QUERY] - When you are asking a query.
[ARTICLE] - When you are posting an article about soemthing.
[DISCUSSION] - When you want to start a discussion on some topic.
[REQUEST] - When you are requesting tutorials or e-books.
[REVIEW] - When you post articles reviewing some software or website.

2. Moderation & Administration

2.1 Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

2.2 If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to one of Forum Support Staff members. Repeat offenders will be banned from the forum, and further action may be taken against them. If you have a complaint about another member, problems with other members, etc. please try to resolve by PMing, if necessary, address "The Mechanical Engineer" moderators.

In observance of the above-mentioned rules will lead to an immediate warning and deletion of concerned post by the moderators. Repeated offences will lead to the member being banned from "The Mechanical Engineer". We, the support staff, work very hard in maintaining the quality & dignity of this community. We would respect the same from your end.
